Music moves people.
Whether it’s a country’s national anthem, a college sports
team’s fight song, or a corporation’s advertising jingle, songs can inspire us
and motivate us to action.
If you’re of a certain generation, I bet you can complete
the phrase, “Two all beef patties special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions . . .” And this one, “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what . . .” It’s no accident that some of the
world’s largest corporations use music to reach their customers.
The same is true for
teaching and learning.
To this day I can still recall those Schoolhouse Rock! television segments explaining how a bill becomes a law (“I’m Just a Bill”) and
how to use a conjunction properly (“Conjunction Junction”).
That’s where we come
in.
At Singin’ Songs Music we compose songs that help teachers
teach and learners learn. Since that day
in 1993 when I played my first educational song for my class of third graders
(“The Rain Forest Song”) I knew something special was happening. Of course they had fun singing along (I put
the lyrics up on the screen in my classroom), but they also were practicing
their reading skills, and even more importantly, they understood and remembered
the important vocabulary and concepts in the song. So that, in a nutshell, is where Singin’
Songs Music began.
So now there are three “Singin’
Songs of Science” cds, several collections of songs on environmental education topics, and an album
of songs for Christian educators entitled “Singin’
Sunday School: The Apostles.” So have a look around the website. Listen to some songs, read the lyrics. Explore.
And if you have a question or a special request, send us an email or call us to discuss what we can do for you.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the music!
